Zira Island, islet in Mauritania
Zira Island is a small islet off the coast of Mauritania that became known for a proposed building project. The plan envisioned the development of an artificial structure that has not been realized to date.
The building project was proposed in the early years of the 21st century and aimed to create a modern facility on the islet. The plans were never carried out and the island remained undeveloped.
The islet lies in the Atlantic and is accessible only by boat, with no apparent tourist infrastructure or visitor facilities. Those wishing to approach the site should use local boat services and expect a lack of amenities.
