Wisma Bapa Malaysia

Wisma Bapa Malaysia is an administrative building in Petra Jaya housing the state government offices of Sarawak, including the Premier's department and various administrative sections. The multi-story structure uses elevators to connect different levels and organizes work areas vertically within a central complex.

Construction began in 1973 and the building was completed in 1976, followed by an official opening ceremony. The project marked an important development in state government infrastructure during this growth period.

The building combines elements from Malaysian parliamentary architecture with regional Sarawak design features visible in its windows and facade details. This blend reflects its role as the seat of state government and shows how federal design traditions mix with local identity.

Visitors must obtain a pass at the entrance and go through security checks before entering the building. It is best to arrive during business hours and allow time for these procedures.

The complex once housed the State Legislative Assembly before it relocated elsewhere in 2009. This move marked the end of a longer period when it served as the gathering place for the legislature.
