Ica Province

The Ica Province contains fourteen districts across 7,894 square kilometers of desert terrain with agricultural zones near rivers and coastal areas.

The province territory belonged to the Nazca and Paracas cultures before incorporation into the Inca Empire during the 15th century under Pachacuti's rule.

The province maintains wine and pisco production traditions with numerous vineyards and distilleries creating Peru's national grape brandy since colonial times.

Visitors reach the province through the Pan-American Highway, with regular bus services connecting to Lima and other major Peruvian cities.

Sand dunes surround the Huacachina lagoon, where tourists practice sandboarding and take dune buggy rides across the desert landscape.
