Address Downtown is a 63-storey, 302.2 m hotel and residential skyscraper in Downtown Dubai, United Arab Emirates, built by Emaar Properties. Its upper shaft is dark reflective glass wrapped by a lighter vertical spine and capped by a flat circular top, while the lower floors step outward in pale horizontal bands and terraces toward the water. The first 12 floors hold a five-star hotel with 196 rooms, with 626 serviced apartments above.
The tower was completed in 2008 following a design by the Atkins firm, which shaped the facade in an Art Deco style. A fire in 2015 led to major work on safety systems and building equipment, interrupting operations for several months.
The tower's name changed over time: it opened as the Burj Dubai Lake Hotel & Serviced Apartments, later became The Address Downtown Burj Dubai, and now carries the Address Downtown name. Its 63rd floor holds a bar, and the hotel occupies the lower 12 storeys.
The tower stands directly in front of the Burj Khalifa, so the Dubai Fountain and the fireworks launch point are just outside. The hotel occupies the lower 12 floors, with serviced apartments above and a bar on the 63rd floor. Guests reported that alarms and sprinklers did not activate during the 2015 fire.
The fire began between the 14th and 15th floors, traced to a short circuit in the wiring of a dimmed facade spotlight; a guest on the 18th floor smelled smoke and called reception. Photographer Dennis Mallari, trapped on a 48th-floor balcony, tied a rope to a window-cleaning platform and hung from it until rescued.
