Ski Dubai

Ski Dubai is a winter sports facility inside the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, offering five slopes of different difficulty levels across a total area of 22,500 square meters. The main run extends 400 meters and is served by chairlifts, while separate zones cater to snowboarding and tobogganing activities.

The center opened in November 2005 as the first permanent winter sports facility in the Middle East, bringing Alpine skiing to the region. Its construction marked a turning point in the city's leisure offerings and expanded Dubai's tourist profile beyond traditional desert attractions.

This place brings European Alpine traditions into a tropical climate and draws families from regions where natural snow is rare or unknown. Visitors often experience wintry conditions here for the first time, all while standing just a few steps away from palm trees and desert sun.

The facility maintains steady temperatures between minus 1 and minus 2 degrees Celsius year-round and provides complete gear including winter clothing. Beginners will find gentler areas to practice, while advanced skiers can use steeper sections with longer descents.

A colony of King Penguins lives in a refrigerated enclosure and takes part in visitor encounters several times each day. The birds come from a specialized breeding program and spend their time on both artificial ice surfaces and in a temperature-controlled pool.
