Ervand Kochar Museum, Modern art museum in central Yerevan, Armenia.

The Ervand Kochar Museum is an art museum in central Yerevan located in a former studio building on Mesrop Mashtots Avenue. The collection includes paintings, sculptures, and drawings that form the core of what is displayed.

The artist Kochar developed his Painting in Space concept during his time in Paris from 1923 to 1936. The museum was founded in 1984 to preserve his works and make them accessible to the public.

The museum keeps Kochar's Tiflis, Paris and Yerevan periods side by side, with graphic works, paintings, sculptures and pressed reliefs. Tours are given in Armenian, Russian, English, German and French. Since April 2017 the Kochar art studio has occupied a hall on the second floor, teaching drawing, appliqué and art history to children.

The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and offers guided tours in multiple languages. Allow time to explore the collection at your own pace and take in the building itself as part of the experience.

Only two museums in the world hold Kochar's Painting in Space works: this one and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. The museum occupies the first floor of a residential block where the artist lived and worked from 1946 to 1959, and its director is Karine Kochar.
