The Komitas statue is a 3-meter bronze and granite monument in a small park in front of Yerevan's Komitas Conservatory. It was sculpted by Ara Harutyunyan with architect Feniks Darbinyan and unveiled on January 8, 1988. The figure stands alone, facing the conservatory that bears Komitas's name.

The monument was erected in 1988 as a tribute to Komitas Vardapet, an Armenian priest from the early 1900s. He spent his life collecting and documenting over 3,000 folk songs from his people.

The statue portrays Komitas dressed in traditional Armenian clerical vestments, honoring his dedication to Armenian musical culture. His presence reminds visitors of the deep connection between this figure and the city's artistic identity.

The plaza is easy to reach on foot and offers free access to the monument on most days. Visitors can explore the surroundings and visit the nearby museum while keeping in mind its opening hours.

A memorial stone announcing the monument was placed in the park by the Komitas Conservatory in 1969, nineteen years before the bronze was unveiled. The sculptor Ara Harutyunyan returned to Komitas across his career, and this work was his last devoted to the composer.
