Monument to Aram Khachaturyan, Bronze and granite monument in Kentron District, Armenia
The Monument to Aram Khachaturyan stands in front of the Aram Khachaturyan Grand Concert Hall in central Yerevan, not at Liberty Square. The bronze figure rests on a granite pedestal, and the whole work, by sculptor Yuri Petrosyan and architect Romain Martirosyan, measures 3.5 metres including the base.
The sculpture was created in 1999 by artist Yuri Petrosyan as a tribute to the influential Armenian composer. Its creation reflects the recognition of Khachaturyan's widespread impact on classical music beyond national borders.
