Orbeli Brothers museum, Scientific museum in Tsakhkadzor, Armenia.

The Orbeli Brothers House-Museum holds about 2,000 cultural objects: books, manuscripts, photographs, documents, personal and household items. Its main display has two parts, scientific and memorial, and three memorial rooms keep the furniture of the brothers' studies, including desks, a sofa, an armchair and a concealed cupboard. Much of the material was donated by relatives, friends and students and brought mainly from Saint Petersburg.

In 1972 the house where academician Levon Orbeli was born was converted into a house-museum by a decision of the Council of Ministers of the Armenian SSR. It opened to the public on 6 July 1982, within the events marking the centenary of Levon Orbeli's birth. The museum is subordinate to the Ministry of Culture of Armenia and is listed among the immovable monuments of history and culture of Tsakhkadzor.

The house honors three Armenian scientists whose research in physiology, archaeology, and oriental studies earned international recognition. Personal items and documents in the collection were gathered by colleagues, friends, and students who worked alongside them.

Visits typically happen Tuesday through Sunday, which helps with planning a weekday or weekend trip. Since the collection is housed in a building, be ready for more compact spaces as you move through.

The collection includes publications and documents in several languages, showing how wide the brothers' scientific networks stretched. These international connections appear throughout items left by researchers from different countries.
