Sevan National Park

The park extends across 342 square kilometers of diverse landscapes surrounding Lake Sevan, featuring wetlands, mountains, and basalt formations at 1900 meters elevation.

The establishment of Sevan National Park in 1978 marked a turning point in Armenian conservation efforts to protect the lake ecosystem and surrounding natural resources.

Local communities within the park boundaries maintain traditional fishing practices and organize educational programs about environmental protection throughout the seasons.

The network of marked hiking trails provides access to observation points around Lake Sevan, with visitor centers offering information about wildlife and plant species.

The park serves as a critical habitat for 267 bird species, including two endemic varieties, and contains 1145 different types of vascular plants.
