The Lori-Pambak Local History Museum in Vanadzor has occupied a new building since 2012. Its archaeology, ethnography and modern history sections hold over 34,165 objects, from 3rd-millennium BC pottery to wooden compositions by Galust Chalabyan of Stepanavan and silverwork by Van goldsmith Mkrtich Ghazaryan.

Founded in 1938 beneath the Holy Mother of God Church in Vanadzor, the museum moved between several buildings, including the No. 1 House of Culture and a music school. The 1988 earthquake destroyed its building, but the collection was saved and the museum continued in huts beside the Russian church. It moved into a new building in 2012.

The collection shows regional crafts and everyday objects from different periods. Visitors can see how people lived and worked in this region throughout history.

The museum operates during set hours and sits on a main street in Vanadzor, making it easy to find. Set aside time to explore the displays slowly since the collection is substantial.

The museum focuses on the Pambak Plain, an area rich in archaeological discoveries from numerous excavations. These findings reveal connections between Armenia and other ancient cultures in the region.
