Hayk Square, Central square in Vanadzor, Armenia

Hayk Square is the central square of Vanadzor, opened in the 1950s to a plan by architects Baghdasar Arzoumanian and Hovhannes Margarian. Fountains occupy its central part. The Lori Province administration building stands on the southern side, the Vanadzor City Hall, also by Arzoumanian, on the eastern side, and the Gugark Hotel, likewise by Arzoumanian, on the western side. Tigran Mets Avenue crosses it from southeast to northwest and Movses Khorenatsi Street from the northeast.

In the Soviet period it was called Kirov Square, after Bolshevik leader Sergey Kirov, and his statue stood at its centre until Armenia's independence. Statues of Hayk Nahapet and Tigranes the Great are envisaged for the square.

Multiple public transportation stops are located around the square, making it easy to reach from different parts of the city. Cafes, shops, and administrative buildings line the area and operate throughout the day.
