Artavaz

Mount Artavaz stands in the Pambak mountain range within Kotayk Province and rises to 2,929 meters in elevation. The landscape belongs to the Lesser Caucasus region and displays typical high mountain features with steep slopes and alpine plant life.

The mountain witnessed human activity from ancient times, as old Armenian settlements were scattered throughout the region. This presence suggests a long history of settlement and use of this mountainous landscape.

From its position, the summit offers views of the Marmarik river and a nearby water reservoir that sit below in the valley landscape. These water features create a striking contrast against the alpine surroundings of the peak.
