Al-Khadeejah Mosque, Islamic sanctuary in Nukuʻalofa, Tonga.
Al-Khadeejah Mosque features traditional Islamic architectural elements adapted to the South Pacific environment with white walls and geometric patterns.
The mosque opened its doors in 2010 through international funding support and underwent repairs following damage from Cyclone Gita in 2018.
The mosque functions as a central gathering point for Muslims in Tonga, where they represent less than one percent of the predominantly Christian population.
The facility maintains an active social media presence to inform the community about prayer times, religious celebrations, and educational programs.
Members of the mosque are working to establish a boarding school on Tongatapu that will combine Tongan curriculum with Arabic language instruction.
