Hacienda El Huique, Cultural heritage site in Palmilla, Chile.
Hacienda El Huique features fourteen distinct courtyards, including a French garden surrounded by ancient palm trees and traditional adobe walls with brick foundations.
The estate originated from Larmagüe land grants in 1613, later transitioning to the Echenique family in 1751 who expanded the property and constructed buildings.
The neoclassical church built in 1852 displays a three-arch portico with a 23-meter wooden tower, representing rural Chilean architectural traditions.
The Chilean Army manages the conservation of this national monument since 1976, maintaining public access through guided visits to the site museum.
The property belonged to Federico Errázuriz Echaurren, a former President of Chile, who married Gertrudis Echenique, the sole heir of the estate.
