Parral extends across 1,638 square kilometers in the Maule Region, situated 162 meters above sea level with Mediterranean climate conditions.
The settlement was established in 1795 by Ambrosio O'Higgins under the name Villa Reina Luisa del Parral, honoring Maria Luisa of Parma.
Nobel laureate Pablo Neruda was born in this municipality, which now preserves his legacy through literary events and cultural institutions.
The municipality maintains direct road connections to Linares 40 kilometers north and Talca 97 kilometers north, serving as a transportation hub.
The area contains the Termas de Catillo thermal springs and Digua Dam, which provide recreational activities for residents and visitors.
