Q'inqu

The Q'enqo complex features a massive rock formation with carved tunnels, ceremonial chambers, and an amphitheater spanning 55 meters in length.

Built during the Inca period, Q'enqo served as a religious center where priests performed ceremonies and sacrificial rituals in underground chambers.

The site contains carvings representing three sacred Andean animals - the condor symbolizing the heavens, the puma for earth, and the snake for the underworld.

Located 4 kilometers northeast of Cusco at 3,580 meters altitude, Q'enqo is accessible through organized tours or independent visits from the city center.

A zigzag channel carved into the stone structure transported ceremonial liquids from the Intiwatana astronomical observatory to the underground sacrificial chamber.
