Jolljepunco

Jolljepunco rises to 5,522 meters in elevation, featuring glaciers and a lake located south of its main peak in the Andes mountains.

The mountain received its first documented climbing expedition in January 1961, marking the beginning of mountaineering activities in this section of the Andes.

The Quyllur Rit'i festival brings participants to the mountain's base, where ukukus perform traditional climbs to collect ice blocks for their communities.

The name derives from Quechua words meaning silver and reservoir, while its waters hold a local reputation for healing properties.
