Ventanilla is an administrative district in Callao Province that stretches across a large area along the Pacific coast. It encompasses numerous urban neighborhoods that extend from the shoreline to adjacent communities.
The area was established in 1969 to redistribute population away from overcrowded Lima and Callao centers. This decision formed part of a broader urban planning strategy to decentralize the region.
The district contains eight urban zones and more than 160 neighborhoods, each contributing to the local customs and traditions of the Callao Province.
The district lies northwest of Lima in close proximity to the coast, making it readily accessible for visitors. The location allows travelers to explore both urban areas and beach sections depending on their interests.
