Caverna de Quiocta

The Quiocta Cave extends 545 meters horizontally through the Amazonian Andes, featuring numerous geological formations shaped by water over millions of years.

In 2003, the Peruvian government designated Quiocta Cave as a National Cultural Heritage site due to its archaeological significance and ancient human remains.

The cave contains numerous pre-Inca artifacts and rock paintings from the Chachapoyas civilization, along with ceremonial objects that indicate its ritual importance.

Visitors need to bring rubber boots, warm clothing, and flashlights, while local guides are mandatory for exploring the cave's intricate network of passages.

Inside the cave, water and time have created distinct natural sculptures, including formations known as the spear, the wishing fountain, and the chief watching the princess.
