Ichigkat muja - Cordillera del Cóndor National Park

The Cordillera del Condor extends 150 kilometers from north to south, reaching elevations of 2,950 meters along the border between Peru and Ecuador.

The establishment of this national park in 2007 followed decades of territorial conflicts between Peru and Ecuador, resolved through peace agreements in 1998.

The Shuar indigenous communities maintain their ancestral territories within the park boundaries, participating in conservation planning and resource management decisions.

The Santiago and Cenepa Rivers flow through the eastern slopes, providing water resources for local communities and supporting the diverse ecosystem.

The park contains one of South America's highest concentrations of plant species per unit area, with numerous varieties still undiscovered by scientists.
