La Lucila del Mar, human settlement in Argentina
La Lucila del Mar is a small town on the Argentine coast near Bahía de Samborombón. The village features wide beaches with clean sand, low buildings that do not block sea views, a compact downtown area of about three blocks, a wooden pier for fishing and walking, and a beautiful pine forest nearby.
The town was shaped by the Duhau family, one of the founding families of Partido de la Costa, whose Neo-French castle still overlooks the village today. The settlement developed as a quiet coastal place that has preserved its simple structure and slow pace through the years.
The town's name has two possible origins: one linked to the daughter of a businessman, the other to a nearby locality used for postal distinction. Residents and visitors here share recommendations and experiences in a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the plain and genuine character of the place.
The town is reachable by car from Buenos Aires via main roads or by bus from Retiro terminal. On site there is a small downtown with shops, restaurants and cafes, but for nightlife and greater variety visitors should head to nearby San Bernardo.
The village has a charming circus on the town square that performs almost every evening with clowns, music and humor, surprising visitors who did not expect a lively entertainment element in this otherwise quiet place. The entrance fee is voluntary, reflecting the spirit of simple and connected community life.
