Provincial Museum of Contemporary art MAR

The Provincial Museum of Contemporary Art MAR presents Argentine and international works across several exhibition rooms and galleries. The collection spans three floors with thematically organized areas for painting and installation.

The museum opened its doors in 2013 and was founded on the initiative of the Buenos Aires provincial government. The institution has since developed into an important meeting point for artists and collectors along the Atlantic coast.

The permanent collection rotates regularly and presents positions by local artists alongside international loans from private collections. Visitors encounter video art and photography that engage with current social themes from the region.

The museum opens Tuesday through Sunday with extended hours on summer weekends. Guided tours in Spanish and English are offered for groups of ten or more and should be arranged in advance.

The entrance area features an open terrace with direct views toward the Atlantic Ocean. This architectural solution allows visitors to flow between indoor and outdoor spaces and enjoy breaks with ocean views.
