Torreón del Monje

The medieval-style tower rises from Punta Piedras rocks, featuring an octagonal design with stone walls and panoramic ocean views from its terraces.

Businessman Ernesto Tornquist commissioned architect Carlos Nordmann to build this structure in 1904, initially naming it Torre Pueyrredón or Belvedere.

The building incorporates a legendary tale about a soldier named Alvar Rodriguez and an indigenous woman called Mariña, set in a 17th-century fortress.

The complex includes multiple event halls, a restaurant with ocean views, and beach facilities with umbrellas and loungers for visitors throughout the year.

In 1927, the tower housed a pigeon shooting club that closed after dead birds appeared on the nearby beach.
