Palacio Edén Building

Palacio Edén is a residential building with an L-shaped structure consisting of two differently sized wings near Plaza Colón in Mar del Plata. The building rises through 26 floors and spans roughly 20,000 square meters of space, with multiple apartments distributed on each level.

Construction began in 1958 and concluded in 1962, marking a period when Mar del Plata expanded vertically and transformed its urban character. This building project was part of the broader modernization movement reshaping the city during that decade.

The entrance hall displays ceramic decorations and sgraffito artwork created by artist Ponciano Cárdenas Canedo, reflecting artistic expressions of that era. These decorative details shape the first impression visitors get when entering the building.

The building has separate access points from Bolívar Street and Buenos Aires Street, making it easy to enter from different directions. Visitors should note the two distinct wings when navigating to reach a specific destination inside.

The building features an unusual asymmetrical form with two wings of different heights, giving it a distinctive silhouette when viewed from the street. This irregular design makes the structure instantly recognizable and sets it apart from other tall buildings throughout the city.
