Villa Luro

Villa Luro is a residential neighborhood in western Buenos Aires containing a mix of traditional houses and modern buildings that together shape the local streetscape. The district spreads across several streets and maintains steady housing density with varied dwelling types throughout.

The neighborhood took shape during the 1870s when Pedro Luro, a physician and property developer, divided his land into residential lots for sale. This subdivision established the area's structure and gave it its lasting name.

The Valle Miñor Social Club and the Villa Luro Association of Plastic Arts serve as gathering places where neighbors come together for social events and artistic activities. These institutions help define the local character and how residents connect with one another.

The Sarmiento Line train and multiple bus routes offer connections to central Buenos Aires, with Rivadavia Avenue serving as the main thoroughfare through the area. The neighborhood is straightforward to explore on foot or by public transport without much difficulty.

A section known as Villa Luro Hollywood developed along Ramón Falcon Avenue, where the residential properties tend toward higher-end styles and finishes. This more affluent pocket sits just one block south of the main avenue.
