Founded in 1936, the museum occupies the third floor of a school building donated by Benito Quinquela Martín, a self-taught painter from La Boca district.
The museum collection includes numerous works depicting port life in La Boca, reflecting the daily activities and social characteristics of this Argentine neighborhood.
Visitors can explore the museum Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and weekends from 11:15 AM to 6:00 PM at Avenida Don Pedro de Mendoza.
The museum houses a collection of carved wooden ship figureheads from the late 19th century, connecting maritime heritage with Argentine visual arts.
