Parque de la Ciudad, Public park in Villa Soldati, Argentina.
Parque de la Ciudad is a 75-hectare public area in southern Buenos Aires featuring green spaces, walking paths, and a 208-meter observation tower called Torre Espacial. The grounds sit between Fernández de la Cruz, Lacarra, Coronel Roca, and Escalada avenues in Villa Soldati.
The site opened in 1982 as Interama under Mayor Cacciatore after roughly one million cubic meters of earth were moved during construction. It was later renamed and redesigned to host the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics.
In 2013, the grounds were renamed Ciudad del Rock and began hosting concerts and art exhibitions. Many visitors come on weekends to hear local bands or browse open-air markets.
Access is usually open on weekends when events or markets take place. Visitors hoping to climb the tower should check opening times in advance as they can vary.
After the youth games, some of the Olympic structures were converted into social housing and now provide homes for families from the neighborhood. This reuse makes the site a rare example of how sporting facilities can be permanently integrated into the city.
