Teatro de Verano Ramón Collazo, Open-air theatre in Parque Rodó, Montevideo, Uruguay
The Teatro de Verano Ramón Collazo features a ceramic-reinforced roof system and two seating areas divided into seven sectors for 4,226 spectators.
The theatre opened its doors on January 15, 1944, and underwent its most extensive renovation between 2006 and 2009, including the construction of a new roof.
The venue serves as the main stage for the Uruguayan Carnival celebrations, hosting the Official Competition and numerous national and international performances throughout the year.
Located within the Canteras del Parque Rodó facing the Río de la Plata, the theatre provides easy access for both local residents and visitors.
The current roof structure incorporates innovative ceramic engineering techniques developed by Engineer Eladio Dieste, setting it apart from other outdoor venues.
