Estadio Arquitecto Antonio Eleuterio Ubilla, Municipal football stadium in Melo, Uruguay
Estadio Arquitecto Antonio Eleuterio Ubilla is a football stadium in Melo, the capital of the Cerro Largo department in northeastern Uruguay, with a natural grass pitch and blue and white stands. The venue is open-air and offers both standing and seating areas around the field.
The stadium opened in 1942 and has served the city of Melo as its main sporting venue ever since. In 2021, it underwent a major renovation that brought new locker rooms, a drainage system, and electronic scoreboards.
The stadium is home to Cerro Largo FC, the main football club of the city and of the surrounding Cerro Largo department. On match days, supporters travel from nearby towns and villages to fill the stands.
The stadium sits in the center of Melo and can be reached on foot from most parts of the city. As it is open-air, bringing weather-appropriate clothing is a good idea, and arriving early helps secure a comfortable spot in the stands.
In 2012, the stadium hosted its first international match when Cerro Largo FC faced Bolivia's Aurora in a goalless draw, making it the only international game played there up to that point. That single result put this regional venue on the continental football map for the first time.
