Lascano, Agricultural city in Rocha Department, Uruguay
Lascano stands at 46 meters above sea level at the intersection of Routes 14 and 15, surrounded by rice fields and wetlands.
The settlement, established in 1876 by Francisco Fernández and Francisco Lascano, received its name from official documentation despite Lascano owning less land.
The city maintains strong connections to rice production with two major processing facilities, Saman and Coopar, shaping the local agricultural identity.
Located 260 kilometers from Montevideo and 100 kilometers from Rocha city, Lascano connects to José Pedro Varela and Treinta y Tres through regional routes.
The Cebollatí River, situated 13 kilometers from the city center, marks the natural border with Lavalleja Department and supports the regional water system.
