Paraguarí Department

Paraguarí Department is an administrative region in south-central Paraguay that spreads across hilly terrain with valleys and agricultural lands. The area contains seventeen districts with varied landscapes.

The region gained its administrative form during Paraguay's early reorganization in the twentieth century. This new structure established the modern governance boundaries.

The region preserves Guaraní heritage through local festivals and agricultural practices that shape daily life today. These traditions naturally blend indigenous and Spanish influences.

The main town connects to Asunción through regular bus services with a central terminal in the town center. Travel to the region is straightforward for visitors from larger cities.

Sugar cane plantations shape the landscape and supply raw materials to local producers of traditional Paraguayan sweets. This production remains deeply rooted in the regional economy.
