Cerro Ñemby, Volcanic hill in Ñemby, Paraguay.

Cerro Ñemby reaches 185 meters above sea level and features a distinctive truncated cone shape with a base diameter of 700 meters.

The first documented mentions of this geographical formation date to the 18th century when explorers Félix de Azara and Pablo Zizur recorded their observations.

Local indigenous groups originally owned the land before it became state property, with the name possibly deriving from a Spanish conquest-era chief.

The hill contains hiking trails leading to its summit and sits 17 kilometers south of Asunción, making it accessible for day trips.

A lake formed at the base of the hill when rainwater filled an abandoned quarry pit, sealed by natural clay layers beneath the surface.
