Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes de Asunción, Art museum in central Asunción, Paraguay.
This national art institution displays more than 650 works including paintings, sculptures, ceramics, prints, and photographs created by Paraguayan and international artists representing different periods and styles.
Silvano Godoy founded this institution in 1909 and became its first director, donating his personal collection of antique coins and furniture that formed the foundation of the holdings.
The collection represents both European artistic traditions and national creativity through works by Paraguayan painters Saturio Ríos and Aurelio García alongside French and Italian 19th-century schools.
Situated at the corner of Mcal. Estigarribia and Iturbe Street, operating hours run from 09:00 to 19:00 Tuesday through Friday, with extended Saturday hours until 20:00.
This building also houses the National Archives, which preserves an extensive collection of historical documents about Paraguay, bringing together both institutions under one roof.
