Tijucas do Sul

Located at an elevation of 940 meters, Tijucas do Sul extends across 672 square kilometers of land in southern Brazil's Paraná state.

The municipality developed from a small settlement into an administrative center, now managing a portion of the Guaratuba Environmental Protection Area established in 1992.

Local residents, known as tijucanos-do-sul, maintain strong connections to horse ranching traditions through specialized farms and equestrian activities.

The municipality sits 55 kilometers from Curitiba, with direct access through regular bus services and maintained road networks for residents and visitors.

Ten percent of the municipality's territory forms part of the protected Guaratuba Environmental Area, supporting regional conservation efforts.
