Fuente de Jerusalén, Religious fountain in Jardim Los Angeles, Brazil

The Jerusalem Fountain is a 14.5-metre reinforced concrete monument at the entrance to Jardim Los Angeles, at the corner of Avenida Sete de Setembro and Avenida Arthur Bernardes. Its illuminated fountain carries three bronze angels of about 600 kilos each, designed by architect Fernando Canalli with works by Curitiba artist Lys A. Buzzi.

Inaugurated in December 1995 to mark three thousand years of Jerusalem, the fountain was designed by architect Fernando Canalli with works by Curitiba artist Lys A. Buzzi. The original project, also intended to celebrate peace among peoples, showed the three Americas; mayor Rafael Greca changed the symbolism to the three monotheistic faiths at the request of Jerusalem mayor Ehud Olmert.

The three bronze angels stand for Christianity, Islam and Judaism, the monotheistic faiths that recognise angels and hold Jerusalem sacred. Each figure weighs about 600 kilos. The monument was inaugurated in December 1995 for Jerusalem's three thousand years and is meant to celebrate peace among peoples.

The fountain stands at a busy intersection and remains open to visitors throughout the year. The surrounding plaza provides space to walk around and view the figures from different angles.

The original design by Fernando Canalli showed three sculptures of the three Americas; mayor Rafael Greca had them changed to three angels at the request of Jerusalem mayor Ehud Olmert. Each bronze angel weighs about 600 kilos.
