The administrative area of Cruzeiro spans 319.3 hectares and contains two main sections: Cruzeiro Velho with low-rise houses and Cruzeiro Novo with four-story buildings.
Established in 1959, Cruzeiro was designed to accommodate public servants, including clerical workers and military personnel who relocated from Rio de Janeiro to the Federal District.
The region includes the Associação Recreativa Unidos do Cruzeiro samba school and forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage designation alongside Brasília.
The area contains essential services, including the Armed Forces Hospital, military housing, educational facilities, and commercial establishments serving local residents.
The climate pattern presents two distinct periods: wet season from October to April and dry season from May to September, when humidity levels decrease below 30 percent.
