The Casa França-Brasil occupies a neoclassical building with large columns, a central dome, and numerous windows in downtown Rio de Janeiro.
The building, designed by French architect Grandjean de Montigny in 1819, initially served as the city's first Commercial Square and later as Rio's customs house.
The center maintains an active schedule of contemporary art exhibitions, theater performances, music concerts, and cultural workshops throughout the year.
Located at Visconde de Itaboraí Street 78, the cultural center opens Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 to 20:00 with free admission.
The structure features a grand central hall illuminated by natural light through its dome, creating specific conditions for art installations.
