Fazenda Santa Eufrásia

Fazenda Santa Eufrásia is a historic coffee estate in Vassouras featuring a main residence built in colonial style with a U-shaped layout, surrounded by century-old trees and a large artificial pond. The property preserves more than 400 original items from the 19th century, documenting the material culture of a wealthy rural landholding.

The estate was founded around 1830 by Ezequiel de Araújo Padilha as a coffee plantation in the region. In 1905, it underwent a significant economic shift toward cattle ranching under the management of Colonel Horácio Lemos.

The main residence displays how rural landowners lived in the 19th century through original furnishings and household objects from that era. These preserved items reveal the lifestyle of Brazil's rural elite and their daily practices on the estate.

Visitors can explore the estate only through guided tours arranged via Bom Tempo Turismo agency, which require advance booking with a minimum group of five people. Tours are available Tuesday through Sunday, offering visitors flexibility in planning their visit.

The estate includes extensive outdoor grounds traditionally used for social gatherings and celebrations, highlighting the venue's role beyond agricultural production. This space reveals how rural landholdings functioned as centers of social life for the local elite.
