Petrobras Headquarters

Petrobras Headquarters is a 26-story glass and concrete tower approximately 110 meters tall located at Avenida República do Chile in downtown Rio de Janeiro. The structure forms a key part of the central business district's skyline and defines the appearance of this urban area.

The building was designed in 1969 by architect Roberto Luiz Gandolfi after winning a national competition with 200 entries from the Institute of Architects of Brazil. Its construction marked a turning point in office building design in Rio de Janeiro during the expansion of Brazil's business sector.

The building features gardens designed by renowned landscape architect Burle Marx, which are now protected as cultural heritage. These green spaces shape the appearance of the complex and create a connection between modern architecture and nature in the heart of the city.
