The Palácio do Grão-Pará features two floors with symmetrical windows and a central entrance portal adorned with neoclassical architectural elements.

Construction of the palace began in 1859 under architect Theodore Marx and was completed in 1861 to accommodate servants and guests of the Imperial Court.

The palace represents the architectural refinement of Imperial Brazil, designed with contributions from prominent architect Manuel de Araújo Porto Alegre.

Located at Rua Dr. Joaquim Moreira 130, the palace remains under the ownership of the Brazilian Imperial Family since its return from exile.

This palace stands as the only royal residence in the Americas that continues to belong to its original royal family.
