Church of Our Lady of Mercy of the Creoles, Religious chapel in Tiradentes, Brazil.
The chapel features a symmetrical facade with a single door, large arched windows, and a curved pediment topped with a cross.
The Brotherhood of Our Lady of Mercy, formed by Black men, started building the chapel in the first half of the 18th century.
The chapel interior contains a Rococo-style main altar with gilded and polychrome carvings, along with the statue of the patron saint.
The chapel underwent extensive restoration by IPHAN in 1960 and 1961, including reconstruction of the pediment and ceiling recovery.
The ceiling displays coffered panels depicting scenes from the Virgin's Litany, while the nave sides feature illusionistic parapets with saints and angels.
