Praia da Costa Dourada

Praia da Costa Dourada is a beach with red cliffs reaching about 15 meters high and golden sand meeting the Atlantic Ocean. The coastline extends across several kilometers with varied areas to explore along the shore.

The area received environmental protection status in 1999 through local legislation. This designation safeguarded the coastal landscape from excessive development.

Fishermen work here using traditional methods that shape the daily rhythm of coastal life. These practices reflect the local identity of northeastern Brazil.

The beach is located about 30 kilometers from Itaunas village and has basic facilities available. Several food stalls are found along the shore where visitors can buy snacks and local food.

Two streams flow into the ocean here, creating notable meeting points where fresh water meets salt water. Mangrove vegetation grows at these boundary areas, making them visually distinctive parts of the beach.
