The Catedral Metropolitana de Manaus is a neoclassical church building in the city center with a symmetrical two-story facade and imposing wooden doors. It features six bells cast at a Portuguese foundry and displays decorative elements throughout its interior spaces.
Construction began in 1858 under architect Sebastiao Jose Basilio Pyrrho, marking a major religious expansion in the growing city. The building replaced an earlier chapel that had served the community since the late 1600s.
