Sobradinho, Administrative region in Federal District, Brazil.
Sobradinho is an administrative region in the Federal District, located northeast of the capital Brasília. The area combines urban neighborhoods with farmland and rural zones.
The region originated from a ranch in Formosa municipality and gained administrative status in 1964. This transition from rural land to organized jurisdiction shaped its later growth.
The name comes from two-story nests built by rufous hornero birds along the local stream. These bird nests inspired the place's distinctive identity.
A four-lane highway connects the region to Planaltina and Brasília for easy access. Visitors can move around by car or on foot through residential and commercial zones.
The region sits at an elevation around 1,000 meters, giving it cooler conditions and distinct vegetation. This height sets it apart from the rest of Brasília.
