Casa Anísio Teixeira, Arts centre in Caetité, Brazil

Casa Anísio Teixeira is an arts and cultural center housed in a two-story historic building with multiple functional spaces. The facility includes a theater hall, public library, digital culture room, and outdoor grounds for events and gatherings.

The sobrado dates to the early 19th century but results from merging two older houses, likely built by Manoel Fraga, also executor of the Igreja de Santana. In 1885 Colonel Deocleciano Pires Teixeira bought it with its contents; educator Anísio Spínola Teixeira was born there in 1900 and lived there for fourteen years. IPAC listed it in 1978.

The house keeps the name Solar dos Fraga from the family that lived here before 1885, when colonel Deocleciano Pires Teixeira bought it with all its contents. The Anísio Teixeira Foundation runs it as a memorial, museum and cultural centre, with a cinema-theatre opened in 2000 in the rear part of the building.
