Founded in 1858 by Maria Luísa Gonsaga, known as Maria Ogorensi, this terreiro represents the first establishment created by individuals of Jeje origin in the region.
The terreiro maintains specific Jeje-Mahi Candomblé practices, preserving traditions brought to Brazil by Ewe populations from Ghana and Togo regions.
The religious complex includes accommodation houses, ceremonial meeting spaces, and multiple sacred trees that serve different functions during religious ceremonies.
The site features the Riacho Caquende stream and specific margin areas called Aziri and Avinagé, which form integral parts of the ritual environment.
