The 27,000-hectare park encompasses marine areas, beaches, wetlands, and diverse habitats that support over 250 bird species along the Atlantic coast.
The area preserves fossils of ancient mammals, including sabre-toothed cats and four-tusked elephants, dating back five million years before present.
Stone fish traps and middens scattered throughout the park provide evidence of early Khoikhoi settlements and their traditional fishing methods.
The park opens daily at 7:00 AM, with winter closing at 6:00 PM and summer at 7:00 PM, offering accommodation from camping to self-catering chalets.
During August and September, the Postberg section transforms into a field of multicolored wildflowers, creating vast natural gardens against the coastal backdrop.
