Middleton Beach, Public beach in Albany, Australia
The beach stretches along King George Sound with white sand shores protected by Michaelmas and Breaksea Islands, creating gentle swimming conditions.
Named after Captain Middleton in 1834, this beach served as a crucial supply landing site during the early settlement period of Western Australia.
The Noongar peoples, traditional owners of the land, named this location Binalup, meaning the place of first light due to morning sunrises.
The beach includes amenities such as picnic areas, cafes, restaurants, public restrooms, and a protective shark barrier installed in 2016.
Between June and October, Southern Right and Humpback whales pass through King George Sound during their annual migration patterns.
