Perth Stadium, Sports stadium in Burswood, Australia
Perth Stadium is a sports arena in Burswood with around 60,000 seats on the banks of Swan River. The curved lines of the modern facade and large glass surfaces mirror the surrounding cityscape and open views toward the water.
Construction began in December 2014 and the stadium opened on 11 December 2017. It replaced older venues and became part of a larger urban development plan for the Burswood area.
The arena serves as home ground for two Perth football clubs and also hosts summer cricket matches. On game days the surrounding plazas and walkways fill with supporters wearing club colors, while local families often gather here for shared afternoons of sport.
A dedicated train station with six platforms sits right at the stadium and brings large crowds to the site on event days. Several bus stops supplement the connection and make arriving without a car straightforward.
The roof features movable panels that control daylight and interior temperature depending on the type of event. This system allows the climate inside to be adjusted for football or concerts without losing the open character of the building.
